About Us

We are a group of students at Lancaster University from various backgrounds that come together to spread the Gospel to the students of Lancaster University.

Meet the Exec for 2023-2024:

Hey! I’m Lydia, and I’m a second year English Lit student from Southampton!

Random fact: if you folded a piece of paper in half 42 times, the thickness would be the distance between earth and the moon!

I am so excited to serve CU this year - I can’t wait to grow alongside the rest of CU as we see more of how great our God is, and to be working together to tell as many people as we can about him. Please do be praying that God would give us unity and enthusiasm as we seek to do this!

Hey guys, I’m EJ and I’m the Vice-President and Impact Group Coordinator for CU!

I grew up in Sheffield and more recently lived in York for the last 7 years - a true Yorkshireman!

I’ve played and watched Rugby for as long as I can remember, and have loved being part of the team for so many years.

I also love playing games - Whether that’s on the PlayStation, on the table or in an Escape Room, I’m always down to play whatever you put in front of me…

Speaking of Escape Rooms, I worked in one in York for 2 years and absolutely loved it - it was such a fun job that put a huge smile on my face whenever I was on shift, and I was probably there even when I wasn’t told to as well!

I’m really excited to serve on Exec and get everyone #hyped for Impact Groups - can’t wait to see you soon!

Hey! I’m Sophie, this years (co)VP and treasurer! I’m from Bath, and am a first year law student :) So excited for this next year!

I really love to travel, and on my gap year I went to 4 different countries (Croatia, Canada, South Korea and Italy!!) in between working in my local co-op back home!

I’ve also just started learning how to crochet!! I’m still currently fairly useless at it, but it’s defo a distraction from the coursework, which is all the excuse I need!

Really looking forward to serving on exec this next year and seeing what God does across campus and in the CU!! :)

Hello! My name is Lena, I'm from Israel, and I study History- the best subject in my humble opinion. * wink wink *

A random fact I'd like to enlighten you all with, is that your bones absorb minerals from the food and water you consume throughout your life and can be used to pin point exactly where you grew up, sometimes even down to the exact region or town of a country. I think archeologists would find the minerals in my bones a bit wonky, I've lived in 4 different countries!

Onto the important stuff: I'm so honoured to have been given the role of Events Week Secretary. There's nothing I'm more passionate about than the Gospel, and so I'm overjoyed to have a role which allows me to share the Gospel and to see students respond to it in such a practical way. I am also so excited to encourage you that you too are capable in Christ of telling others about the Hope there is in Jesus, in a very tangible way through Events Week and in the leading up to it.

I'm so looking forward to bringing the hope of eternal life to campus through Events Week and to serving all of you.

Can't wait for this next year! The Lord bless and keep you!

Hey, I’m Peter, a first year environmental science student and I will be the new Equip secretary.

I love everything to do with the outdoors, sports and adventure, especially when it involves my retriever, Sunny. A random fact is that I have never broken a bone, despite being a maniac on a pair of skis!

Hiya! Im Susie, your new CU publicity officer.

Im a northern gal, currently studying as a first year in environmental science.

Although I’m in an academic subject I’m a creative at heart, as I took a gap year to study Art. However, I felt called to Lancaster to be a woman in stem, and the future David Attenborough.

I feel blessed to have been given this role to serve the CU as a visual voice across all media’s, and am excited to grow in faith alongside you all :)

See you soon!

Hey! I’m Charlotte, I’m from Anglesey in North Wales and am studying Maths and French.

I will be taking on the role of the secretary for the CU. I’m really excited to be more involved in the CU and work together with the rest if the team to share Jesus with those around us on campus!

Can’t wait for the year ahead!!

Hello, I’m Izzie! I’m a first year student studying Economics. A (slightly random!) fun fact about me is that I once kissed a dolphin (not as strange as it may sound… it was on holiday when I was three)! Anyway! I’m excited to use my event organising role to help us feel confident being Jesus to our friends and flatmates, and to have loving and Truth-centred conversations about our friendship with Jesus (especially with students who don’t know Him yet!) in a uniquely personal, natural and non scary way!!

Hi I’m Ciel! I’m from Hong Kong, also a first year Social Work and Psychology student. I’m going to serve as an International Secretary this year. Fun fact, I’m the first international taking up this role haha! I’m very excited to share the gospel with students from around the world, grow together in God’s love and make CU a diverse and loving community.
